American Family Contribution Criteria

American Family’s PACs and Conduits play an important role in making sure our company’s voice is being heard in Washington, DC and our state capitols on critical issues. Our political funding programs provide financial support to candidates for federal, state, and local offices who understand our issues and are willing to listen to our concerns. We pride ourselves on being a bipartisan organization willing to support candidates who meet our contribution criteria:

1. Candidates from states w​here American Family has a strong market presence and/or a significant base of agents and employees.
2. Candidates who understand the important role insurance plays in our nation’s economy and have a positive voting record on insurance issues.​
3. Candidates who share American Family’s commitment to social justice issues and have demonstrated that commitment in their public life.
4. Candidates who have a reasonable chance of winning election/re-election to office.
5. Candidates who have existing relationships with American Family through its agents and employees.
6. Candidates who serve on legislative committees of importance to American Family.
